its on standard time during winter. here in lafayette the sun doesn't rise until like 7:30am though. they do daylight time for the reason you suggested, otherwise during summer the sun would rise at like 4:30 or something ridiculous so they figured they'd tack that hour onto the end of the day. 11/04/2003-6:14pm
