i look damn sexy in my krispy kreme hat 04/08/2003-11:06pm
oh then you should progress to the third and final religious stage of existence wherein you accept your incapability to become God, your finitude, and your status as cognizant animal and rely on faith in an infinite being in a last ditch effort to tie yourself to something immortal 04/08/2003-1:12pm
I don't have what it takes. 04/08/2003-10:11am

and the conversation comes full circle once again: whatevah, i do what i want 04/07/2003-12:01am
Hi, I'm calling on behalf of the "uh, terror is bad and, uh, america is good fund" we accept donations in a variety of forms including, personal or cashiers check, biological agents, and most major credit cards. 04/06/2003-10:12pm
Just take one lesson from all of this: Never give away large sums of money to anyone. 04/06/2003-8:55pm
you dont give that much money to an organization and not know everything it does and is involved in, so he knew what he was getting himself into when he made that donation, the government isn't going around grabbing random people off the street, to a large degree this guy put himself into a postition where stuff like this happens to you, i have a relatively low degree of sympathy for this guy. 04/06/2003-2:56pm
not caring if witnesses are detained against their will without being charged is fine and all until you're the witness. 04/06/2003-12:26pm

also, to get back to the example at hand, he is not a suspect and will not be charged. he is a material witness, presumably against the organization he donated to. he would not be charged if they were found guilty as that would be a violation of the 5th. 04/05/2003-8:46pm
I think holding on to primary suspects could be a valuable crimefighting tool, but the length of time involved is ridiculous in some extreme cases. They need to put a cap on it, and if they can't charge the person with something, they get paid any lost wages, etc incurred to them. 04/05/2003-8:35pm
innocent until proven guilty...nice concept, but bullshit. plenty of people have been 'proven guilty' that werent, and plenty of people have been set free that are not innocent. personally, if someone is a prime suspect in a serious crime, id rather them be detained than left to do what they want until they are put to trial 04/05/2003-8:56am
